The Story: "Ciptoning"

Ciptoning is one of the original stories of Javanese wayang. The story is a meditation on meditation, bravery and mastery over ones inner self in order to do great things for others.

About Wayang Kulit Performances:

Wayang Kulit is an Indonesian community-based art form incorporating two dimensional shadow-puppet theater, gamelan music, ancient stories, philosophy, comedy, and civic engagement. Most stories in wayang performances come from the ancient Indian epics of the Mahabharata and the Ramayana.

Dahlang traditionally come from families of other dahlang, but there are now public school for dahlang education in Indonesia.
