Featuring dahlang puppet master Ki Midiyanto! As well as guest artists Wakidi Dwidjomartono, Heni Savitri, and Heri Purwanto!

Nusantara Arts creates a new wayang kulit shadow puppetry story and performance for the modern world. It addresses the horrific issue of global warming, as represented through the Indonesian lens, and the destruction of vast rain forests for the production of palm oil. Using characters from classic wayang stories as well as a set of new puppets created for this performance, Puppets of Palm addresses the issues of resource extraction, the economics that drives it, and the global environmental consequences.
